Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for EU consumers

Consumers have a right to contact a local ADR entity in connection with a dispute which they are unable to resolve directly with Xero Shoes.

ADR is a dispute settlement procedure for the out-of-court settlement of national and cross-border disputes under contractual obligations arising from purchase or service contracts concluded between a trader established in the Union and a consumer resident in the Union through the intervention of an ADR entity proposing or imposing a solution or inviting in order to facilitate a friendly solution.

ADR entities are out-of-court (non-judicial) entities. The ADR entity is a neutral party (e.g. conciliator, mediator, arbitrator, ombudsman or complaints board) that Xero Shoes will use to settle disputes if the consumer opts for ADR settlement. The ADR procedure is cheap, easy and fast, and is therefore beneficial for both consumers and traders, who can thus avoid court costs and lengthy proceedings.

To file a complaint, consumers may contact the Czech Trade Inspection: Česká obchodní inspekce*, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, ID: 00020869, http://www.coi.cz. This entity will also answer any questions the consumers may have about the ADR process.

* This ADR entity is included in the national lists of ADR entities that meet the mandatory quality requirements set out in the Alternative Dispute Resolution of Consumer Disputes Directive (Directive 2013/11 / EU on Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumers), http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
