Xero brings our Natural Movement fun and feeling to a “MaryJane” style shoe for women — the Cassie.

The Cassie, like our other casual hemp canvas shoe, the Hana, is built for fun. We don’t recommend running ultra marathon in the Cassie, but with a high-performance FeelTrue® rubber sole, some of you will do more in the Cassie than just wearing yours for work, or hanging out, or a night on the town.

What you’ll love about the Cassie

It’s what makes all our Xero Shoes special — we believe in feet! Your feet are supposed to bend, flex, and feel the world. The Cassie lets you do that.

Natural FIT — the wide toe box lets your toes spread and relax. Plus the “XERO-drop” sole (non-elevated heel and low-to-the-ground) allows for proper posture, balance, and agility.
Natural FUNCTION — the flexible Cassie lets your feet bend, move, and flex the way that feet are supposed to. Plus, they’re so light, you might forget you have them on. A woman’s size 37.5 is only 170 grams each.
Natural FEEL — the Cassie uses the 5.5mm FeelTrue® rubber sole. That means you get protection while still letting you feel the sensations that your feet want. If you need a bit of extra protection, just toss in the 3mm insole that comes with your pair.
Eco and Vegan-friendly materials — the Cassie has a hemp canvas upper made from hemp. You can wash it with soap and water.
Huarache-inspired design — the heel/instep strap adds a subtle, eye-catching call out, but it’s also functional, holding your heel and cinching up around your instep.
Flexible heel — you can step on the heel and wear the Cassie as a slide

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

How do I care for my Cassies?

You can hand wash them with a mild soap and water mixture. The canvas is quite durable, and should come clean easily with a little scrubbing. DO NOT place your Cassies in the dryer when you are finished cleaning, let them air dry

How do I find my Cassie size?

Shoe sizing, especially online, is not a perfect process. That’s why we offer exchanges.
We have sizing instructions at the bottom of the product description for the Cassie.

The Cassie fits “true-to-size” or a TINY bit small. So you’ll probably be okay selecting your “usual” shoe size. If you think you’re “between sizes,” go up a 1/2 size.

Also, the Cassie is wider than conventional shoes. Some people have experienced stretching in the canvas upper to slightly wider.

Keep in mind, though, that because the foot is three-dimensional, any two-dimensional measuring tool, such as a ruler or Brannock device®, can only approximate your true shoe size. Manufacturers model their shoes on different foot shapes, which is why you might be an 39 in one brand and a 40 in another.

Is the Cassie only for Women?

While we designed the Cassie with a “Mary Jane” style that’s typically a women’s shoe, if you’re a man with a narrower foot (our women’s shoes are narrower than the men’s) and like this style… enjoy.

Is the Cassie Waterproof?

No, the Cassie is a canvas shoe, and will absorb any water it encounters. It is a light canvas, though, and should dry pretty fast after you take them off. Also, you can treat the Cassie with an aftermarket waterproofing spray… but that will make them a bit less flexible.

What can I do in the Cassie?

Though the Cassie is designed as a casual shoe, it’s certainly capable of much more than just hanging out. We’ve had people do all kinds of outrageous activities in them so far, but it’s up to your best judgment what you believe they are capable of handling. So, use your common sense and have fun
